“Cavalier’ Dr. M.S. Mathivanan

Dr. Mathivanan was the member of the World Council of Young Men Service Club, which is known as the WOCO. He started the Club activities in Komarapalayam in the year 1979 as Charted President and undertook many service projects for the welfare of poor children. He took the major initiative and drives behind the construction of a Primary Complex a medical facility centre for the poor and needy children with the assistance of Australian Work Party Scheme of Apex Club; free medical treatment is given to the children, even today. He was elected as the Asia-Pacific Regional Chairman of this international organization and has participated many conferences organized, in the cause of service to human kid.

Child Labour School under his president-ship, in the year 1985-86, the first ‘Child Labour School’ was started to help the children who are forced work and earn the livelihood for their family. Because of the school, several children of the nearby area have been benefited by getting good education and pursue their dream of higher studies.

  • Rotary International
  • Started Rotary Club of Komarapalayam as a Charter President and sponsored many district events in the Club, adopted Blind School, Polio Plus Camps and established Rotary Charitable Trust and Centre for Youth and Child Development.
  • Was appointed as a District Chairman for International Friendship Exchange and attended meetings in many countries in the world.
  • World Council of Service Club.
  • As a Charter President, started Apex Club of Komarapalayam in the year 1979 and became National President in 1986 and was elected as Vice Chairman and Chairman of Asia Pacific Regional of the World Council of Young Men’s Service Club during the year 1988-90.
  • International Chairman for Community service projects for the year 1989-90
  • International Club-to-Club Service Project Coordination 1989-1995.
  • Established Children’s Community Centre at Komarapalayam with the ‘work party scheme’ of Apex Club Australia.
  • Won the Award as Best Amateur Film Maker in service project at World Council of Australia.
  • Coordinated for the orphanage at Villivarayanallur, Chengalpattu Dist., and Blind School at Perundurai, Erode, thorough the “World Party Project Apex, Australia.
  • Family Charitable Trust.
  • Sponsored the students who came first in the final examinations for the higher studies.
  • Constructed a hospital nursing home at Komarapalayam and donated it to the Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • Sponsored four Mid-day meal scheme centers in Komarapalayam, Mettuapalayam, Ootacamund and Kodaikanal.
